We appointed Brand Group not because they were the cheapest – far from it - but because they provably demonstrated an understanding of my business needs. They’ve achieved exactly what I wanted.Rob Bradley, Managing Director

Brand Strategy

This new self-storage company has entered a highly competitive marketplace and needs a strong brand with clear values and propositions. We won the work after a three-way credentials pitch, and decided early on that this brand had to have two distinct differentiators in its sector: firstly it should look like a more premium offering; secondly it should look from the start like a UK wide franchise.

Both of these aims have already been quickly achieved, and the business, first opened for trade in late 2007, and officially opened by Sir Sterling Moss in April 2008, is now confidently building customers with the use of direct mail and off the page advertising.

Related Companies

Cube self-storage is part of a group of businesses, the other two companies, for which Brand Group is also producing all the marketing, are Edward Baden removals, and Easy Crate crate hire. All three brands have been developed simultaneously to encourage brand synergy.

Website Design and Development - www.cubeselfstorage.co.uk

Cube’s new website had to be fast to load and dead easy to understand. Visitors would simply leave if the information was either slow loading, or wasn’t easily accessible.

So we used our design and technology skills to make it fast and simple. Yet we also knew that visitors would expect that everything they needed to know would be there, so we equally made the site content rich, with uncomplicated explanations and easy to read diagrams. The idea was to neither patronise nor confound visitors, but make their on line experience easy, rewarding and pleasurable. Very much like their real world experience would be.

Direct Mail Piece: Targeted Door Drop

The business launched with a multiple post-code door drop. We kept the design simple and direct, using exactly the same design style as we had in the website, we kept the messages clear, with just enough detail, and included a big incentive and strong calls to action. Cube are delighted with the results, they’ve exceeded expectations, and the business now continually uses these targeted door drops to attract new customers.

Information Posters For Distribution Throughout The Premises

Let’s face it, your self-storage visit isn’t going to rank amongst your top ten must-do’s, but conversely it shouldn’t rank amongst your top ten most miserable. We worked with Cubes’ owners to make a visit more enjoyable by producing posters that are distributed throughout the premises and give useful information, and yes, please.

Information Posters: Sister Company Advertising

We took the opportunity to produce some posters that cross sell:

Ad for Yellow Pages and Local Press

A large part of the proposition for Cube is naturally locality, so we’ve produced a design template for strongly branded ads with big incentives and clear calls to action. They are all driving traffic to the website and getting new customers.

Exterior Signage: Three Dimentional and Neon

Cube’s premises dominate their location, so we produced signage that achieved two objectives: firstly it’s visible from the local by-pass, so it’s a great ad; secondly it’s a bold and effective reminder of the brand and key proposition for the business.
